A vibrant and easy-to-make blackberry mint mojito pitcher perfect for summer gatherings, combining fresh blackberries, mint, lime, rum, and soda water for a refreshing cocktail.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (300g) fresh blackberries
  • 20 fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • Juice of 34 medium limes (about ½ cup or 120ml)
  • ½ cup (100g) raw sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) white rum
  • 3 cups (720ml) chilled soda water
  • Ice cubes, plenty
  • Optional: extra lime slices for garnish
  • Optional: blackberry skewers for presentation

Instructions

  1. Rinse 2 cups (300g) of fresh blackberries and gently pat dry. Rinse 20 fresh mint leaves and set a few aside for garnish.
  2. In a large pitcher, add the blackberries and mint leaves. Gently crush them using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon for 1-2 minutes to release juices and aroma without pulverizing.
  3. Add ½ cup (100g) raw sugar and the juice from 3-4 medium limes (about ½ cup or 120ml). Stir well until the sugar dissolves slightly, about 1 minute.
  4. Pour in 1 cup (240ml) white rum and gently stir to combine all flavors.
  5. Fill the pitcher halfway with ice cubes, then add 3 cups (720ml) chilled soda water. Stir gently to mix without flattening the bubbles. Add extra ice on top if desired.
  6. Garnish with extra mint leaves, lime slices, and a few whole blackberries. Serve immediately with tall glasses and extra ice.

Notes

Do not over-muddle the blackberries and mint to avoid bitterness. Use fresh ingredients for best flavor. Keep soda water separate until just before serving to maintain fizz. For a non-alcoholic version, omit rum and add extra soda water or sparkling grape juice.
