Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
  2. Blanch the green beans in a large pot of salted boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to an ice water bath.
  3. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms, onions, and garlic, and sautΓ© for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to combine. Gradually whisk in broth and heavy cream, cooking for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and top with crispy fried onions.
