A simple, colorful, and satisfying fruit platter featuring red, white, and blue fruits paired with a creamy yogurt dip, perfect for summer gatherings and picnics.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries, rinsed and dried
  • Red apples, thinly sliced (e.g., Honeycrisp or Gala)
  • Green grapes, halved
  • Bananas, sliced (optional, add last to avoid browning)
  • Plain Greek yogurt (1 cup)
  • Honey (2 tablespoons, to taste)
  • Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
  • Lemon juice (1 teaspoon)
  • Fresh mint leaves, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and prep the fruit: rinse all fresh fruit under cold water and pat dry. Hull strawberries and slice in half. Thinly slice apples just before assembling; optionally toss in lemon water to prevent browning. Halve grapes and slice bananas last to prevent discoloration.
  2. Make the creamy yogurt dip: in a medium bowl, combine 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Stir in finely chopped fresh mint if using.
  3. Arrange the platter: place a scoop of yogurt dip in a small bowl or ramekin and set on the serving platter. Layer fruit in red, white, and blue sections—strawberries and apples for red, banana slices and yogurt dip for white, blueberries for blue. Add green grapes around edges or as fillers.
  4. Add final touches: sprinkle fresh mint leaves or edible flowers on top. Chill the platter for about 15 minutes before serving to meld flavors and keep fruit crisp.

Notes

Slice apples and bananas just before serving or toss apples in lemon water to prevent browning. The yogurt dip can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge. Use dairy-free yogurt for a vegan option. Frozen berries can be used if thawed and drained well. Garnish with fresh mint or edible flowers for extra appeal.
