  • 23 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Fresh orange peel
  • Large ice cube or ice sphere
  • Applewood or cherry wood smoking chips
  • Optional: Maraschino cherry for garnish
  • Optional: Dash of club soda

Instructions

  1. Prepare your smoker and load it with smoking chips (applewood or cherry wood).
  2. Peel a fresh orange to create a long strip of zest and set it aside.
  3. In a rocks glass, combine 2 oz bourbon, 1/2 oz pure maple syrup, and 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitters.
  4. Add a large ice cube or ice sphere to the glass.
  5. Ignite the smoking chips and place the nozzle into the glass. Cover the glass and let the smoke infuse for 30 seconds.
  6. Press the orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it into the glass.
  7. Optional: Add a maraschino cherry for garnish.
