Refreshing Peach Bourbon Smash Cocktail

A simple and refreshing summer cocktail combining fresh peaches, mint, and bourbon for a perfect balance of sweet, herbal, and boozy flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe peach, cut into wedges
  • 810 fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Splash of soda water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice a ripe peach into wedges. Rinse fresh mint leaves and pat dry.
  2. In a mixing glass or shaker, add peach wedges and mint leaves. Gently muddle to release juice and oils without pulverizing the mint.
  3. Add 2 ounces bourbon, 1 ounce simple syrup, and 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice. Stir or shake gently to combine.
  4. Fill a serving glass with plenty of ice cubes.
  5. Strain the muddled mixture over the ice. Top with a splash of soda water if desired.
  6. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a thin slice of peach.

Notes

Do not over-muddle mint to avoid bitterness. Use ripe but firm peaches for best flavor and texture. Fresh lemon juice is preferred over bottled. Large clear ice cubes melt slower and keep the drink cold longer. Adjust simple syrup amount based on peach sweetness. For a pulp-free drink, double strain through a fine mesh sieve. Prepare muddled peach and mint base ahead for parties but add bourbon and ice just before serving.
