Moose Farts Recipe: Easy No-Bake Holiday Treat for Parties

Moose Farts recipe - featured image

Moose Farts are a quick, no-bake dessert featuring a creamy fudge center, snowy coconut coating, and a playful name. These bite-sized treats are perfect for holiday parties, potlucks, or edible gifts, and come together in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut (plus 1/2 cup extra for rolling)
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and measure them out.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the shredded coconut, graham cracker crumbs, and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well combined; the mixture will be sticky.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes to firm up the mixture. (Alternatively, chill in the freezer for 10 minutes.)
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place extra shredded coconut in a shallow bowl for rolling.
  6. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the chilled mixture and roll between your palms into a ball. Roll each ball in the extra coconut to coat completely.
  7. Place each coconut-coated ball on the lined baking sheet, spaced slightly apart. Repeat until all mixture is used (makes about 24 balls).
  8. Refrigerate the Moose Farts for at least 30 minutes, or until firm. (Or freeze for 10 minutes if short on time.)
  9. Serve chilled and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes

Chilling the mixture is key for easy rolling and perfect texture. For less sweetness, use dark chocolate chips and unsweetened coconut. You can add nuts, dried cranberries, or spices for variations. If mixture is too dry, add more condensed milk; if too wet, add more graham crumbs. Moose Farts keep best in the fridge and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
