A tangy, sweet, and spicy cranberry-sriracha sauce with lime that pairs perfectly with meats, veggies, or as a zesty condiment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (200g) fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) water
  • 1/3 cup (70g) brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) sriracha sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place cranberries, water, and brown sugar into a medium saucepan. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens.
  3. Stir in sriracha sauce and adjust the heat level to taste.
  4. Remove from heat and add lime juice and lime zest. Stir to combine.
  5. Add a pinch of salt to balance the flavors. Taste and adjust as needed.
  6. Let the sauce cool to room temperature before transferring to a serving bowl or jar. The sauce will thicken as it cools.

Notes

[‘Use fresh lime for the best flavor.’, ‘Don’t overcook the cranberries to avoid a mushy texture.’, ‘Adjust the spice level by adding more or less sriracha.’, ‘Make the sauce ahead of time for better flavor melding.’]
