A quick and refreshing summer drink combining juicy watermelon and zesty lime juice, perfect for hydrating and cooling off on hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups (900g) diced seedless watermelon
  • Juice of 2 medium limes (about 2 tablespoons or 30ml)
  • 2 cups (480ml) cold water
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons (15-30g) granulated sugar
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Cut about 6 cups (900g) of watermelon into chunks, removing seeds if necessary. Chill the watermelon for extra refreshment.
  2. Place the watermelon chunks in a blender and pulse until smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Optional: Pour the blended watermelon through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl or pitcher to remove pulp and seeds.
  4. Stir in the freshly squeezed juice from 2 medium limes and 1 to 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Adjust sugar to taste.
  5. Pour in 2 cups (480ml) of cold water and stir well to combine.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or serve immediately over ice with optional mint or lime garnish.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for best flavor. Freshly squeeze lime juice for brightness. Adjust sugar based on watermelon sweetness. Strain juice for a smoother texture. For a fizzy twist, replace half the water with sparkling water before serving.
