Delicate slices of smoked salmon paired with a creamy spread, all nestled on a crunchy cucumber slice. A quick and elegant appetizer perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) softened cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chopped fresh dill
  • Thinly sliced smoked salmon
  • English cucumbers, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • Capers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the cucumbers thoroughly. Slice them into rounds about 1/4-inch thick and arrange them on a serving platter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, fresh lemon juice, and chopped fresh dill. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  3. Cut the smoked salmon into small pieces that will fit neatly on top of the cucumber slices.
  4. Spread a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture onto each cucumber round.
  5. Place a piece of smoked salmon on top of the cream cheese spread. Fold or curl the salmon for a visually appealing look.
  6. Sprinkle each bite with a pinch of everything bagel seasoning and a small sprig of fresh dill. Add one or two capers to each bite if desired.
  7. Cover the platter with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

[‘Use high-quality smoked salmon for the best flavor.’, ‘Let cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften before mixing.’, ‘Prepare the components ahead of time but assemble just before serving to keep the cucumbers crisp.’, ‘Experiment with variations like adding sriracha, wasabi, or swapping herbs for different flavor profiles.’]
