Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces potato gnocchi
  • 5.2 ounces Boursin cheese (garlic and herb flavor)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions, usually about 2-3 minutes. The gnocchi will float to the top when done. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream to the skillet, stirring gently to combine. Let the cream warm up for about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the Boursin cheese to the skillet, breaking it up with the wooden spoon as it melts into the cream. Stir continuously to create a smooth, velvety sauce.
  5. Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until it’s fully incorporated. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Gently fold the cooked gnocchi into the sauce, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
  7. Finally, toss in the baby spinach and stir until it wilts, about 1-2 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

[‘Don’t overcook the gnocchi; they should float to the top when done.’, ‘Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.’, ‘Warm the cream gently to prevent curdling.’, ‘Be gentle when folding the gnocchi into the sauce to avoid mashing them.’, ‘Customize the flavor with extra garlic or fresh herbs like thyme or basil.’]
