A vibrant and festive cocktail featuring homemade cranberry syrup, gin, lime juice, and club soda for a refreshing and bubbly holiday drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (100g) fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 2 oz (60ml) gin
  • 1 oz (30ml) cranberry syrup
  • 1 oz (30ml) fresh lime juice
  • 23 oz (60-90ml) club soda
  • Ice
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Extra cranberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the Cranberry Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup (100g) fresh cranberries, 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar, and 1 cup (240ml) water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens slightly.
  2. Strain the Syrup: Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or jar, discarding the solid bits. Let the syrup cool completely.
  3. Mix the Cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 oz (60ml) gin, 1 oz (30ml) cranberry syrup, and 1 oz (30ml) fresh lime juice. Shake well for 15 seconds.
  4. Serve: Fill your serving glass with ice. Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass. Top with 2-3 oz (60-90ml) of club soda and stir gently.
  5. Garnish: Add a few fresh cranberries and a sprig of mint for a festive touch. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

[‘Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.’, ‘Chill serving glasses in the freezer for 5 minutes before serving.’, ‘Adjust sweetness by adding more cranberry syrup or lime juice.’, ‘Do not overdo the club soda to maintain flavor balance.’]
