A warm and comforting winter cocktail featuring cinnamon, maple syrup, and whiskey, perfect for chilly evenings or festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces bourbon or whiskey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (about 30 ml)
  • 1 ounce real maple syrup (about 30 ml)
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Cinnamon sticks (optional, for garnish)
  • Orange peel (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Squeeze the juice from one fresh lemon (about 2 tablespoons or 30 ml) and set aside.
  2. Measure out 2 ounces (60 ml) of bourbon or whiskey and add it to your cocktail shaker.
  3. Add 1 ounce (30 ml) of real maple syrup to the shaker. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  4. Sprinkle in a pinch of ground cinnamon (about 1/8 teaspoon).
  5. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the shaker.
  6. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, close it tightly, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the shaker feels ice-cold.
  7. Using a strainer, pour the mixture into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
  8. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a twist of orange peel. Optionally, rub the orange peel around the rim of the glass for extra aroma.
