Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 1 cup (240g) canned pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir frequently until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  4. In another bowl, whisk the browned butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture using a spatula. Mix until just combined—don’t overmix.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cold butter. Use a pastry cutter or fork to mix until crumbly.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the streusel topping generously over the batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Check around the 50-minute mark to avoid overbaking.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
